Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸
June was a relatively low-key month with only one tournament on the calendar, but those of you who know me know that I don’t sit still particularly well…I started the month off by heading to Albuquerque, New Mexico for some clinics. I had never been to New Mexico before, and I have to say that I enjoyed it! Thanks to Jeremy and Kamryn for making it happen!
The following weekend I went to Steamboat Springs, CO to run some clinics, and we debuted “Chainsaw for Charity“, benefiting Stop Alzheimer’s Now. More on that down below! 👇🏽
Next up was Major League Pickleball in San Clemente, CA! We were hoping that the change from the Frisco Clean Cause to the Frisco Pandas would provide the spark we needed to have a better result…but we were wrong, haha 🤦🏽♂️. While it may be an understatement to say that the team struggled, MLP is still such an incredible event to be a part of and I have to shout out everybody that cheered us on (including my fiance Jenny who was able to make the trip!).
It wouldn’t be June without a trip to Oshkosh, WI to check out the Miss Wisconsin Competition. Jenny and I finished the month with another trip to Milwaukee for the wedding of our high school friends, Zach and Kierstyn. Can you believe that this was a “relaxing” month?! 🤣
I’m incredibly excited to announce that we raised over $7,000 for Stop Alzheimer’s Now during Alzheimer’s Awareness month!
While about $500 came from our podcast segment “Cussing for a Cause”, another ~$1,500 came from our newest promotion: “Chainsaw for Charity”! Think you can return the infamous “Chainsaw” serve?! The rules are simple:
- Make a wager of an amount up to $100.
- Attempt to return my chainsaw ⛓️🪚 serve
- If you cannot return the serve, you must pay your wager amount. If you can return the serve, I must pay the wager amount!
It’s a fun way to raise money for a great cause. Remember that you can ask your question and have it answered live on the show! Make a donation of any amount and we will read and answer any question you can think of. Leave your question in the memo section! I hope to hear from you for a good cause.
As a “thank you” for subscribing to the newsletter, we’re offering 10% off any new or used paddles on my website!
Use the code “paddles10” for 10% off of your paddle purchase, which applies to new and used paddles including the new ProXR Standard paddle! Thank you!
Want a shot at the Chainsaw for Charity?! Come join me at the Beer City Open for some clinics.
Also, if you’re interested in a clinic in your area, click the “clinic request” button below to complete the form and I’ll see what I can do!
Thomas Shields and I are bringing you the newest editions of PicklePod, presented by The Dink. This is the best pickleball podcast in the game! Be sure to listen wherever you get your podcasts! 🎙️
