Happy Fourth of July! Jenny and I celebrated the Fourth by taking the dogs kayaking! After a couple of falls, Arlo finally found her sea legs haha!
After giving the dogs baths, we ate hotdogs while watching the hot dog eating competition. It just wasn’t the same without Joey “Jaws” Chestnut. We crushed three glizzys while Patrick Bertoletti ate 58 .
Our wedding video was finished up, so we watched that for the first time. Chanel did an amazing job of capturing the whole day. Thanks Chanel!
Next, we went to the Museum of Ice Cream where I unleashed my inner child and ate wayyyy too much ice cream. We ended the night by watching the fireworks on the Congress bridge. A great day on one of my favorite Holidays!
After that, it was back to business preparing for the Beer City Major League Pickleball event. Beer City holds a special place in my heart because it was one of the first professional tournaments I ever participated in, and Andrea Koop is one of my good friends.
This was a bracketed tournament and we were the #2 seed and received a bye for the first round. Our first match was against the Arizona Drive, it looked like we could get away without having to play singles, but they came back strong in mixed and we ended up winning the dreambreaker. Next we played the #3 seeded Dallas Flash and finally won without a dreambreaker! In the final we played the DC Pickleball Team and won in a wild back and forth match and dreambreaker!! Checkout Championship Point!
It was truly a great team effort and I couldn’t be more proud of how we kept fighting for every point! Thank you Anna Leigh, Mari, Will and our 5s support team!!
