October started out in Las Vegas for the Guaranteed Rate Championship. I had two new partners: Jericho Grollman and Tina Pisnik. Tina and I played well together as we won two matches before falling to Ben Johns and Anna Leigh Waters, but I did catch them off guard with this one! Jericho and I played together because he sent me a couple of hilarious emails through the tournament software, and when I had a last minute cancellation, I gave him the call, and we had an awesome time. Watch out for this dude.
After Las Vegas I headed to Tempe to shoot some content for Picklemall. Don’t know what Picklemall is? You’ll find out soon! From there it was straight to Malibu for a pickleball event hosted by the Texas Ranchers at the Near Futures Summit. We demonstrated pickleball to some of the world’s most influential. I personally spoke with Will.I.Am, Evan Williams, co-founder of Twitter, and Sergey Brin, founder of Google. Not bad networking for a Tuesday.
I got back in time to film some awesome instructional content with my fellow Wisconsinite, Will East, AKA the Prince of Pickleball and hit up a high school football game like a real Texan! I headed to Hilton Head to visit a good friend of mine on the way to Orlando for a bunch of cool events! More on that down below.
Finally, we did Halloween things! Jenny dressed up as her favorite professional pickleball player, and we also hit up a haunted house !
I wrapped up October in Orlando for a few awesome days with the Squeeze Squad! First, we held a Dinktoberfest event where we introduced Lil Squeezie. That’s right. We have a sweet mascot.
Next, we worked with some of the members at the Winter Park Racquet Club and held a grand opening for their four brand new pickleball courts!
The Squeeze Squad participated in the Lone Palm Pro Player Showcase. Anna and Rachel won the womens, Andrei and Rob Nunnery finished runner up, and Rafa Hewett and I had fun, so who’s the real winner? Overall very strong showing from the Squeeze ahead of the Dallas MLP!
On the off day, Jenny explored Universal Studios during the day and headed to the Orlando Magic game at night! Perks of being on the Squeeze, Orlando’s winningest sports franchise, I suppose! I can’t thank the Squeeze Squad enough for an awesome few days in Orlando!
